- BUILT
FROM THE GROUND UP
-
-
- The
Arkansas.Net statewide network is built on three core network
points located in Fayetteville, Little Rock and Pine Bluff, Arkansas.
Each location is situated in high security concrete reinforced
structures. Our primary data center in Fayetteville sits in an
environmentally conditioned computer room built for temperature
control and access security. Network facilities are accessible
by authorized personnel only, with access to the building secured
by electronic maglocks protecting our core inter networking equipment.
|
| CONDITIONED
POWER
All
equipment receives conditioned power to protect from damaging voltage
spikes, brownouts, and electromagnetic noise. Even during potentially
damaging lightning storms common in Arkansas, our servers receive
a steady, clean source of power. A backup power generator
supplies emergency power in our data center in the event of a total
power outage.

HIGH
SPEED CONNECTIVITY
Our
data center is connected to the Internet through multiple Internet
connections through one of three core network access points. Data
is routed through these connections via our Cisco® 7513 series
routers using the BGP4 protocol to automatically route internet
traffic down the fastest route.
Cisco®
routers are used throughout our internal WAN network spanning the
entire state of Arkansas. Arkansas.Net is proud to be utilizing
a network based on a 100% Cisco® WAN infrastructure.
|
| Arkansas.Net
utilizes the Lucent® (formerly Ascend Telecommunications) MAX
WAN Access switches for all our Dial-Up and Dedicated ISDN connections.
Supporting the v.90 standard these units are the workhorses of the
ISP connectivity industry. |

POWERFUL SERVERS
Arkansas.Net servers are the best! Currently we utilize the following
equipment in our network operations center.
- SUN
E-3000 Enterprise Servers
- SUN
E-450 Enterprise Servers
- SUN
Netra 1125 Servers
- SUN
E-250 Enterprise Servers
- SUN
Storage Arrays
Each
SUN® Server is loaded with to 512MB to 1 Gigabyte of RAM, fast
and wide ultra SCSI hard drives and networked together with Cisco®
Ethernet Switches.
|
- BACKUP
SYSTEMS
All customer data is backed up daily to our DAT storage system.
In the event of a hard drive crash, we can install a new hard
drive from our reserve supply while the server is still powered
and running and restore the drive content from the tape backup.

INDUSTRIAL
COOLING SYSTEMS
High Performance Equipment generates quite a bit of heat which is
why we have installed dedicated cooling systems in the server room
of our facility. Cool temperatures allow our servers to operate at
peak efficiency with enhanced reliability. |
