Postini: Behind the Scenes Spam Filtering
At the core of Arkansas.Net's Enhanced Spam Blocker Service is a
company called Postini. This company
specializes in providing Internet service providers with effective,
reliable Spam filtering services.
Arkansas.Net has re-designed its user tools to integrate with Postini,
allowing customers to change their spam filtering preferences, add
entries to a "Blocked Senders" and "Approved Senders" list, and make other
changes which impact the way in which the Spam Blocker Service works.
Arkansas.Net's Webmail system also allows customers to retrieve messages
which Postini has marked as spam from the "Bulk Mail" folder in Webmail.
The web interface has been enhanced, allowing customers to very easily
deliver a message they wanted to read which was accidentally caught by
Spam Blocker. The "Blocked Senders" and "Approved Senders" list is now
integrated directly into Webmail, no longer requiring the customer to
login each time they want to make a change. The list display has changed
to a "Hotmail-style" display, making it easier to add and remove entries.
Perhaps the biggest change is that Spam Blocker services are now enabled
by default on all Arkansas.Net accounts. It's a measure of our commitment
to our customers in providing them with spam-free email!
